    <summary type="html">As an example of what some states are doing with their Staying Connected Grants, North Carolina I believe is using their funds for more training.  You might want to contact them to find out more information, but I will be heading up there a bit between Jan&amp;#045;March 2004 to do some of that training.</summary>

    <summary type="html">This isn&amp;#039;t really breaking news. I think the grant applications went out to state libraries in summer of 2002. Applications are for grants in 2003 and 2004.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The grants are for 4 different areas, hardware upgrades, internet connection upgrades, training, and technical support. States can apply for any or all of these. There are requirements for matching funds from the state.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you curious about this, you should probably contact you state library.</summary>

    <summary type="html">This is breaking grant news from [url http://www.ala.org/alonline/ ]American Libraries Online:[/url]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Gates Foundation Commits $17 Million to Keeping Libraries Connected.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;These are challenge grants that will go to state libraries to help them serve as technology resources for local libraries. Applications have been sent to all state library agencies.</summary>
