    <summary type="html">Yes, and that is something I shouldn&amp;#039;t forget to mention in this context. However, I have heard of many libraries in the past having success with contacting Grisoft directly and asking for a donation of licenses for their library&amp;#039;s computers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyone out there who has tried that?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dale</summary>

    <summary type="html">After being asked to install AVG on a library computer, I checked the license agreement to verify compliance.&lt;br /&gt;Per the license agreement &amp;#040;See: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/98 &amp;#041; as viewed on September 6, 2007, installation of the software on a non home computer constitutes a violation of the license agreement.&lt;br /&gt;Translation: Do not install the free version on library computers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Wanting to be a helpful computer tech, I also checked into &amp;#034;avast!&amp;#034; &amp;#040;which I&amp;#039;ve used at home and Really like&amp;#041;.  The free avast! license agreement &amp;#040;See:  http://www.avast.com/eng/free_virus_protectio.html &amp;#041; states, &amp;#034;... avast! 4 Home Edition can only be used by home users...&amp;#034;.&lt;br /&gt;Translation: Do not install &amp;#034;avast! 4 Home Edition&amp;#034; on library computers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;#045;On to ClamWin &amp;amp; Winpooch &amp;#045;hoping to find that sweet library rate that the boss likes &amp;#040;i.e. Free&amp;#041;.</summary>

It&amp;#039;s a great program and have never had any problems with it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;gt; AVG Antivirus &amp;#045; I &amp;#040;and by extension, my family, who I&lt;br /&gt;&amp;gt; technically support&amp;#041; have used this for several years&lt;br /&gt;&amp;gt; and I know many other people who have also used and&lt;br /&gt;&amp;gt; liked it.&lt;br /&gt;&amp;gt; http://www.grisoft.com</summary>

    <summary type="html">If you are only looking for &amp;#039;free&amp;#039;, as opposed to &amp;#039;open source&amp;#039;, you might be better off with one of a couple of free, home use versions provided by commercial AV companies. Both of these are free for home use only, and do provide &amp;#039;real time&amp;#039; file scanning as well, which seems like a pretty big drawback to ClamWin.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;AVG Antivirus &amp;#045; I &amp;#040;and by extension, my family, who I technically support&amp;#041; have used this for several years and I know many other people who have also used and liked it.&lt;br /&gt;http://www.grisoft.com &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have also heard good things about Avast, but i have never personally used it.&lt;br /&gt;http://www.avast.com/</summary>

    <summary type="html">Oh, those sure are endearing names!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, have you tried this at home? How complicated is it to combine the two &amp;#040;for those of us with less programming experience&amp;#041;? Virus protection is serious business. I like the idea of &amp;#039;free&amp;#039; but I&amp;#039;m not sure if this is an area in which to be experimental. On the other hand, the article intimates that the commercial vendors are not as reliable as advertised. What&amp;#039;s a PC user to do?</summary>

    <summary type="html">For those looking for a true open source anti&amp;#045;virus software package, ClamWin &amp;#040;http://www.clamwin.net/&amp;#041; has been getting all sorts of rave reviews:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;http://www.linuxpipeline.com/166400446&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The only limitation at this point is the lack of a native real&amp;#045;time virus scanner &amp;#040;as found in most commercial alternatives&amp;#041;, but the equally open source Winpooch &amp;#040;http://winpooch.sourceforge.net/home/index.php&amp;#041; spyware and trojan protection engine provides that service when integrated with ClamWin.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And who can resist product names like &amp;#034;ClamWin&amp;#034; and &amp;#034;Winpooch&amp;#034;?</summary>
