I'm from No Cal and this was a great conference for me. I thought the sessions were grounded in the real world and with real time and HR constraints in mind.

I loved the session about search engines and about advocacy. I loved learning about Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and particularly about tribal libraries. These are sets of knowledge that I have put to practical use immediately.

I come from a large county with a small population. We're stretched thin just to get daily work done. I look forward to next year, knowing I will bring things home that I actually will put into practice.

I particularly loved the terms "crisis of opportunity" and "re-purposing". As a Canadian I was very impressed by the impact that the Gates Foundation has had on American Public Libraries not just for the installation of public access computers but also the impact it is having on Library staff. By providing staff with the opportunity for training and personal growth the Gates Foundation is ensuring that staff are empowered and invigorated for the next challenge!
