One Book Reading Promotion Projects
Originally initiated by the Washington Center for the Book in 1998, "One Book, One Community" projects are being introduced across the U.S.A. and around the world. Whether you live in Chicago, Springfield, Peoria, or Rochester, libraries around the state of Illinois are building community though “One Book, One Community” reading projects. While the books, project scope and community programming vary with the community, the projects all promote community discussion and literacy.
