 Libraries are a real oasis, picture of library    Cyclists and libraries connect underground
Libraries were on the agenda at the 2008 Pro-Walk/Pro-Bike Symposium held recently in Seattle.
As part of a presentation on "The Underground Railroad Bicycle Route," library advocate and WJ staffer Betha Gutsche recounted the many ways in which this innovative partnership between Adventure Cycling and libraries enriched the lives of participants. Read more and join the group.

In partnership with TRPI, WebJunction surveyed more than 2,860 Latinos about their library use and perceptions of libraries.

The results indicate that 54% percent of the Latino population visited libraries in the past year, and that Latinos hold positive perceptions of libraries. Read the findings, download the survey tool, or register for the October 14 webinar with the authors of the report.

ARSL conference warms up Sacramento
A rich menu of programs and keynotes, a group library cheer, a reception at the State Library of California, pirate talk, and 280 participants from 38 states. This all describes the recent ARSL conference in Sacramento.

"The most productive, warmest conference I have ever been to," proclaimed WISLR's (Wisconsin Small Libraries Roundtable) Norma Jean Le Moine. Peruse the handouts and presentations, and find out how to join this vital organization.

Bridging the gap: juntos @ the border

Kansas takes their show on the road

WebJunction-Kansas is using their online events calendar to promote the State Library Traveling Road Show, BlogJunction-Kansas to share up-to-date information, and provide navigation tips each month to help their members explore their new site.
