Stolen E Series Desk Top DVD Drive/Hard Drive keys.
10:55 PM EST 1/8/08
Hello, My name is Mary and I am the board president for the Rippey Public Library in Rippey IA. We are a very small community. The last week of November 2007, our library was broke into. Of the many items stolen, the computer keys that unlock the hard drive were taken. The computers were left behind, thankfully. We are not able to perform any upgrades because the computers are locked. Without being able to upgrade the computers, we will not meet CIPA, ERATE, Technology compliance and will loose substantial funding. Is there anyone who could give me direction on where or how to find replacement keys? Or are we dead in the water and have to look at purchasing new computers?

Hi - I almost missed your post in this forum, but here is the deal with the locks. They are a product called Centurion Guard, made by Centurion Technologies. You can contact them about getting replacements by either going to their web site - http://www.centuriontech.com/support/ or by phoning 1-888-265-6055.
Also, these keys are not unique to each computer. A key from any other Iowa library who received Gates grant computers should work, so if there are any nearby libraries who have them, you might be able to at least borrow a key while you are waiting to get the official replacements.
