WebJunction

WebJunction Global was originally funded by a Gates grant and is now a partnership with OCLC. Its focus is to support library staff through online resources, community and continuing education.

WebJunction Illinois is a customized instance of WebJunction Global which includes selected relevant content from the WebJunction Global site with the addition of Illinois-specific content and resources to create both a global and customized perspective for Illinois library staff. WebJunction Illinois is sponsored by the Illinois State Library under the direction of the Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White with cooperation and input from the Illinois Regional Library Systems and Illinois library staff and organizations. Registration with WebJunction Illinois is free.

Our mission is to…

Inform

• Visit the resources to access articles, downloadable materials, case studies and links to materials relevant to Library Management, Library Services, Statewide Projects, Technology and more.

Instruct

• Pursue professional development, continuing education, and leisure learning through the WebJunction Illinois Course Catalog, Illinois Learning Center, Illinois Wimba Archives and WebJunction Webinars.

Integrate

• By bringing together ideas, resources and people from all types of Illinois libraries through discussions,  networking, communities of practice and a team-based approach to content contribution using Subject Curators.

Inspire

• Creativity, multitype cooperation, interaction and collaboration with the goal of expanding and ensuring quality library services to the Illinois library community.
