I also hope that there will be some definition of "core training". I would consider workshops like "Reference Basics", "Reference Interview" and "Basic Collection Development" to be core classes, yet at MLS, we do pay. I don't think offering some of these at no charge would preclude offer others, especially special presenters and programs, at a fee.
