ISL Grants
With a Little Help from your Friends...Every year the Illinois State Library awards nearly $60 million in grants to local and regional library institutions to enhance, improve, and supplement local initiatives. Many creative and successful initiatives in Illinois, such as LibraryU and Virtual Reference projects were originally funded with LSTA grant money. Public Library per capita funds help public libraries improve and increase services to their service area, and the School Library per capita program, the first of its kind in the nation, is designed to help provide more library books and materials for the students of public schools in Illinois.
