Supporting and Enhancing Illinois Libraries
Through its various programs, the Illinois State Library reaches out to all types of libraries in Illinois to lend a helping hand. Just a few of those include:
- The E-Rich Electronic Resources Services providing free access for all Illinois citizens to a vast array of databases in the OCLC FirstSearch collection. Once a year Illinois libraries are also provided the chance to test new e-resources through the "Try-It Illinois" program
- The Small Public Library Management Institute sponsored by the Illinois State Library and held annually is intended for directors of smaller public libraries and directors new to the Illinois library community. Highly successful, the Institute assists public library administrators by enhancing their administrative skills and further developing their leadership skills.
