Keeping the Public Informed: Administrative Ready Reference Revisited is a newly revised interactive tool providing access to key resources relating to public library operations in Illinois. This tool is available through WebJunction Illinois and includes such topics as policy models, ordinances, annexation, non-resident fee calculation, Trustee Facts File, grants and the Fund for Illinois Libraries. Unlike the original product, released a decade ago, the current version is available in an online format permitting updates and changes to be made quickly and easily. Sample documents within Administrative Ready Reference are available in Microsoft Word format allowing for easy customization. In addition, a discussion area is available providing registered users the opportunity to communicate and ask questions about topics of interest.
In an effort to raise awareness of the Administrative Ready Reference tool and to provide a method of saving and storing related information, a variety of colorful USB drives and lanyards are being made available to users. These drives have been and will continue to be distributed at Illinois library conferences, workshops and institutes for as long as supplies are available.
