Summer Reading Program

Our Summer Reading Program was a great success through the help of South Texas Library System, Texas Commission on the Arts Cultural Connections Program, and contributions from local businesses and individuals. Due to monies received, the library was able to obtain professional storytellers.
All ethnic cultural individuals were served with the breakdown as follows: Asian individuals 5%, Black/African Americans 8%, Hispanic/Latino individuals 20%, and white individuals 67%, for a total of 100%.
The number of books read (forms turned in by children) during our Summer Reading Program during the month of June totaled 1206 and our attendance exceeded 800 individuals.
We received positive feed back from both adults and children at the program's conclusion.
