Ways to Learn Spanish
1:53 PM EST 12/7/07
I keep stumbling on different resources online to learn Spanish as I become immersed in my Spanish Language Outreach workshops. Today, through my daily email from Spanish Word a Day (http://spanish-word-a-day.com/) I learned about "The Twisted Doors". See their site here: http://www.thetwisteddoors.com/ Their website states "A bilingual foreign language learning adventure that will be... The Scariest Way in the World to Learn French or Spanish!
LES PORTES TORDUES and LAS PUERTAS RETORCIDAS are 46-chapter French-English or Spanish-English illustrated mystery adventures that uniquely integrate vocabulary, grammar, and expressions. For beginning to intermediate students ages 12 and up and adult self-learners. Easy-to-follow and riveting read-along audio CD. Exact line-by-line translation."
I sure wish one of our libraries had this so I could check it out. When I saw their sample chapter here: http://www.thetwisteddoors.com/spanishchapter.htm I knew I would love to use this. I am somewhat bilingual, but very rusty, and this would be a great way to get better!
I think this would be a great resource for any library!
