Ways to Learn Spanish
1:53 PM EST 12/7/07
I keep stumbling on different resources online to learn Spanish as I become immersed in my Spanish Language Outreach workshops. Today, through my daily email from Spanish Word a Day (http://spanish-word-a-day.com/) I learned about "The Twisted Doors". See their site here: http://www.thetwisteddoors.com/ Their website states "A bilingual foreign language learning adventure that will be... The Scariest Way in the World to Learn French or Spanish!™

LES PORTES TORDUES and LAS PUERTAS RETORCIDAS
are 46-chapter French-English or Spanish-English illustrated mystery adventures that uniquely integrate vocabulary, grammar, and expressions. For beginning to intermediate students ages 12 and up and adult self-learners. Easy-to-follow and riveting read-along audio CD. Exact line-by-line translation."

I sure wish one of our libraries had this so I could check it out. When I saw their sample chapter here: http://www.thetwisteddoors.com/spanishchapter.htm I knew I would love to use this. I am somewhat bilingual, but very rusty, and this would be a great way to get better!

I think this would be a great resource for any library!
